Week One

I've just finished my first week of interning at The Trend Boutique in Nottingham. Travelling and eating costs are high, especially when you're not being paid, but I'm hoping I will learn a lot and it will be worth the expense!

For the first day I was given some trend research to do. I had to find some accessories that fitted in with the 'Spirited' trend, but, as I had not actually been briefed on the trend, I found this quite hard. It was also difficult as I had to learn about a lot of thing as I went along, due to things not being explained in detail. After Monday, I felt pretty disillusioned about the whole experience, however, as the week went on I was given more writing to do. Although it did take me a little while to work out things such as correct sizing of images etc. I was much happier undertaking this role. I am really pleased to have got 5 articles live on the website already.

Sally Denton, managing director at The Trend Boutique said that my writing was very good, and there were only a few minor things she needed to tweak (due to it not quite being in the style of The Trend Boutique etc.)

I am feeling positive about the coming weeks as I now understand more of what I'm meant to be doing, and have settled into the role. The people here are lovely, and it's all quite laid back... so it's a nice place to work!
